Digital, Social Media Remaking Insurance Marketing

A.M. Best TV episode insurance marketers at the Insurance Marketing & Communications Association’s (IMCA) annual conference in Nashville, TN, said the growing array of communications channels is presenting greater creative opportunities but new resource challenges.

Two themes emerged at the 2015 IMCA in Nashville: the expanding number of ways companies can communicate and the accelerating pace of change. “If you view sales and marketing as two separate entities, you’re totally missing the boat,” said Emily Hathcoat, assistant vice president, marketing, CNA. Organizations are looking for the latest trends, techniques and best practices to deliver content to target audiences.

Peter Van Aartrijk, principal, Chromium Branding, addressed digital marketing: “The industry is in for some changes. Social media is a wonderful thing for an industry that is otherwise pretty distant and faceless for most consumers.”

Mark Friedlander, head of corporate communications, The Main Street America Group, described digital media as one of the hottest trends in the market today for insurance marketers and communicators.
